Do you take pride in being there for others, but notice that you're neglecting yourself in the process? You find yourself feeling lonely and worrying about being a burden, even to the people you’re closest to. You’re grateful for what you have in life, but you feel like something needs to change in order for you to fully enjoy it. If this resonates with you, I can confidently tell you it does not have to stay this way. In therapy together, we can create a safe space to unpack the underlying experiences and emotions that contribute to what you’re experiencing. In addition to processing feelings, I help clients become more connected to themselves and others. My goal is that as you commit to the work of therapy, you will notice yourself feeling more grounded, joyful, and purposeful

I delight in creating a space that allows clients to show up fully as themselves, honoring your story and celebrating your strengths. Your treatment will be tailored specifically for you, your personality and preferences. I provide inclusive, culturally attuned, and LGBTIA+ affirming treatment. Many of the challenges we face reflect larger societal pressures, which I believe is crucial to incorporate in treatment, especially when addressing body image, people pleasing, and perfectionism.

Are you ready to make some changes in order to live a fulfilling life that excites you? Making the first step to contact a therapist can seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. When you feel ready to take this courageous step towards healing, I welcome you to contact me to schedule a free 15-minute consultation where we can see if we would be a good fit to reach your goals together.

Emerald Aueyong, APCC, AMFT (She/Her)

Sex and Relationship Therapist

(213) 536 - 9122, eaueyong@gmail.com, www.emeraldaueyongtherapy.com

Do you find yourself stuck in loops of negative self-talk? Is past trauma occupying too much space in your daily life? Has it been difficult to date, form new relationships, or thrive in your current one? Having these experiences doesn’t mean you’re not enough, incapable, or unworthy of love. In fact, these common struggles are what makes us human and provides us with opportunities for growth. I know these topics can be daunting, which is why I geared my education and practice to help people like you. With training in cognitive processing therapy and rational emotive behavioral therapy, I am equipped to help you navigate through challenges ranging from mental health to sexual health

Sex is a difficult conversation to navigate because we were taught to keep it secretive and to ourselves. But, that poses a problem: How are we supposed to have a fulfilling and pleasurable sex life if we don’t talk about ways to make it better? I utilize an empathetic and solution-focused approach to find an individualized solution that works for you. I also believe that you are the expert of yourself and I am merely a facilitator of the conversation. I will suggest various interventions and assign homework that is directly related to your concern. We would be a great fit if you are motivated, curious, and ready to introspect.

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important steps toward healing, which is why I offer a free 15 minute consultation call. I would love to answer any questions that will allow you to make an informed decision. Please send me a message and we can set up a call at your earliest convenience. Thank you and I look forward to connecting!

Emerald's Bio:

I find passion in treating trauma, desire discrepancy, relationship intimacy, and dating. By using a trauma-informed approach, I aspire to serve as a mediator in your relationship, bridging communication free of shame and embarrassment. It's important to understand how past trauma is disrupting your sexual relationship with yourself and others and identify ways to restore control. I help couples strike a balance between needs and wants by finding a compromise that works for both people, without sacrificing personal growth. I also offer support to singles who are looking to find their match in the dating world.

Upon earning a Master’s Degree in Counseling at Cal State Los Angeles, I have treated individuals and couples with sexual trauma, desire discrepancy, and self-esteem. My previous work with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), substance use disorders, and sex offenders, has influenced my decision to pursue sex therapy as my primary specialty. Growing up in a Thai household, I experienced first-hand the detriment of avoiding such important conversations, particularly around depression, anxiety, and dating.

3 words clients use to describe my sessions are empowering, insightful, and informative. On my down time, I enjoy playing volleyball, connecting with friends, and spending time with my partner and our 2 rescue kittens.
