What is the length of sessions?
In general, we will meet for 45-50 minutes.
What are my rates?
I charge $150 per 45-50 minute psychotherapy session and will process payment the day of our meeting. An income-based sliding scale is available upon request.
What is my cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify me as soon as possible. A full session fee is charged for missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24-hour notice.
What about confidentiality?
As your therapist, I am legally prohibited from revealing to another person that you are in therapy with me, nor can I reveal what you have said to me in any way that identifies you without your written permission with the exception of scheduled weekly discussions with my direct supervisor Jeffrey Bornstein. The purpose of these discussions is to problem solve and clarify the best approach to treatment. However, in the following instances, your right to confidentiality must be set aside as required by law or professional guidelines:
- If I suspect child or elder abuse, or abuse of a dependent adult,
- If a client reveals clear and imminent intent to harm self or others.
- If ordered by court.
You are able to sign release paperwork if you would like to open up communication with someone else, for a certain reason. In our first session, we will discuss confidentiality and its limits more fully.
Do I prescribe medication?
I do not prescribe medication and I would be happy to make referrals to a well-qualified psychiatrist, in addition to my services.
Do I currently take insurance?
I am not currently accepting insurance. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be able to submit your receipt to your insurance company and receive a reimbursement for working with an “out-of-network” provider. For more information, call your insurance company to find out more information about billing “out-of-network”.
Do you write Emotional Support Animal (ESL) Letters?
No, this is out of my scope of practice. I do not have the training to make this determination.
What is my office location?
I have two offices:
For your meeting please wait in the waiting area available upon entering the building. Please help yourself to water or hot tea. I will come and retrieve you from the waiting area at your meeting time.
Where do I find parking for your office?
Los Feliz: We do not have a client parking lot available. You will have to allow time for finding street parking. It is easier to find parking north of Hollywood Blvd but beware of street sweeping hours.
Eagle Rock: Free parking on the street right outside of the office, with plenty of parking usually available.
